The presidents spoke about a variety of bilateral and international issues, including the most recent happenings since the Johannesburg BRICS Summit. In addition to exchanging opinions on issues at the regional and international levels, they engaged in a thorough assessment of the advancements made in several areas of bilateral cooperation. Their conversation centred on the recently finished BRICS Summit.

To preserve cooperation, the leaders decided to stay in touch.

Putin Will Concentrate on Military Operations

Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, will not attend the upcoming G20 summit in New Delhi, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. The summit is scheduled for September 9–10 and will be presided over by India.

President Putin's participation in an ongoing special military operation in Ukraine is said to be the reason behind the choice. Putin's participation in the international gathering will take place in a specific format that will be decided later, according to Peskov.

"President Vladimir Putin does not intend to travel to India for the September G20 conference. A special military operation is currently the major focus, Dmitry Peskov told Russian media.

According to sources, Sergey Lavrov, the foreign minister of Russia, will attend the meeting as President Putin's representative. During the previous G20 Summit, which was held in Bali, Indonesia, Lavrov played a similar role.

President Putin virtually attended the BRICS Summit last week, which was held in South Africa, through Lavrov.
